Job Overview

We are looking for you! Are you caring, innovative and passionate about your work? Do you value putting your patients first and working with them towards recovery? Are you motivated to learn and develop your psychotherapy skills? If so, then YOU are the person we are looking for.

We have a really exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Occupational Therapist, or other suitably qualified health care professional to come and work with us as a permanent member of our Adult Eating Disorders Outpatient team.

If you want a permanent Band 6 Eating Disorder Therapist job, then we are looking for you. We want you to join our small highly specialist team, providing psychological interventions for outpatients suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder.

You will need to have a core mental health profession, be up to date with all professional requirements relevant to your qualification and have significant post registration experience. Experience of working with people with an eating disorder will be a particular strength for the right candidate. However, we are able to offer opportunities for with those with limited experience in a developmental role.

You will be experienced in offering individual or group psychotherapy for patients and will have worked in a mental health setting, either inpatient, outpatient or community, to deliver this treatment.

We will support you with training and development opportunities relevant to your role, helping to equip you with the specialist skills you need. This may be an opportunity for you to learn new skills in a supportive and dynamic environment or the start of a new career path in this highly specialist area. We want to invest in you as our strength is in our team and the people who work with us.

The post is based at Forest Grange Outpatients, Bennion Centre, Leicester. Our team supports adults over the age of 18 who have an eating disorder, aiming to provide individual care plans for recovery through evidence-based interventions and strong therapeutic relationships. This care can be both physical and psychological, as our patients may need help with working on weight restoration, reducing compensatory behaviours or regularising their eating amongst other things and need support with managing the mental challenges this can bring. You will find the role challenging but intensely rewarding.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, who work together to help your patients achieve their individual recovery goals. You will take part in regular clinical supervision, either group and individual, to support your practice and regular team meetings for effective communication. You will also be able to take part in our weekly CPD programme, where we have an extensive range of internal and external speakers.

We have a strong culture of research and a continuous drive for improving quality, so you will have opportunity to contribute to our ongoing programme. You will be encouraged to contribute to the running of the service and to lead on specific areas of interest. We want to invest in you and your career, but also want to gain from your experience and innovations.
