We are looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced children’s nurse to be part of an established team of children’s community and specialist nurses.
Main duties of the job
* The post will be allocated their own caseload and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of patient care.
* You will be responsible for teaching/training of junior staff, support workers and untrained staff within health, education and social care settings to meet the child’s needs and to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications
* Essential criteria
* NMC Registered Nurse – RSCN, Child Branch or equivalent.
* Degree in Nursing and evidence of post registration learning or equivalent experience.
* ENB 998 Teaching and Assessing course or equivalent
* Desirable criteria
* S.M.A.R.T. pack training
Experience
* Essential criteria
* Substantial experience working as a Children’s nurse
* Experience with relevant portfolio of mentoring students demonstrating own development
* Experience within the appropriate clinical area
Skills
* Essential criteria
* Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative
* Ability to communicate with children and families in relevant language
* Ability to work without supervision and take charge/responsibility regularly in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility
* Desirable criteria
* Commitment to developing appraisal and clinical supervision skills
Knowledge
* Essential Criteria
* Evidence of knowledge and application of consent, data protection, patient confidentiality and risk management with Health & Safety issues, specific to children’s issues
