University Services SAS Student Services – Student Support Officer – Life Sciences. Vacancy Reference: 187435. Salary: UofG Grade 5, £28,031 - £31,236 per annum.

This is a great opportunity to join the University’s Student Services as a Student Support Officer (SSO) to help students become successful learners through first line support, guidance, signposting and support related to studies, wellbeing and future careers.
The University is expanding its student support model to ensure accessible, visible, seamless and tailored services. A network of College-based Student Support Officers will work across all Colleges and School divides, collaborating to identify student needs earlier and provide appropriate support.
Responsibilities
1. Provide first line support to students and help them resolve issues; signpost to information, advice and guidance related to studies, wellbeing and future life and careers.
2. Contribute to ensuring effective visibility, coordination and seamless delivery of student support and wellbeing provision in the local context.
3. Share insights and knowledge of the student journey to develop student services across the institution and collaborate with colleagues to promote University-wide initiatives that support shared values and ambition.
4. Work within the College-based Student Support Officer network to support students across all 4 Colleges and School divisions and in specialist areas within Student and Academic Services.
