Working in our Children’s Homes means being a part of a young person’s day-to-day life. This role involves supporting young people to regain their childhood and create pathways to become well-rounded adults. There will be challenges along the way, but there will also be small moments that feel like big victories. Our homes accommodate young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and our aim is to create the best possible outcomes for the young people in our care.
What we do for you:
Responsibilities
* Take care of our young people day to day, ensuring things run smoothly and creating lasting memories. This includes helping with getting them up and ready for school, assisting with homework, completing paperwork and planning activities.
* Evenings and weekends are for activities and engagement with the young people (e.g., games, outings, film days or other activities) as part of a rewarding day at work.
* Tap into each young person’s needs, personality and potential—and guide them toward a positive future.
Benefits
* Salary: Base salary of £29,034 - £35,400
* Bonuses and sleep-ins: 1-2 sleep-ins per month, paid at £80 per sleep; Attendance Allowance of £1,400 (assuming good attendance); £1,000 Welcome Bonus on probation completion; £1,000 Loyalty Bonus after 12 months

Requirements
* A ‘can do’ attitude and team spirit; willingness to help others
* Honesty and empathy; genuine care for young people and colleagues
* Resilience to handle challenging situations
* A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months
* If you don’t have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), the company will support you to study
You’ll start life as a Residential Support Worker by joining the Care Academy – 4 weeks of off-the-job training with experienced WG professionals to help you feel confident and ready to support our young people.
