The DCHS Podiatry Team is seeking a dedicated Highly Specialist Podiatrist with expertise in Biomechanics/MSK to work in Derby and South Derbyshire.

The ideal candidate will serve as a Biomechanics/MSK clinical specialist within the Derby and South Derbyshire locality, managing complex caseloads and providing expert advice to the Community Podiatry Team, including contributions to wound care.
You will be part of a motivated team committed to delivering high standards of clinical care in specialized areas, with at least three years of registration required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a Biomechanical/MSK clinical foot specialist for the Community Podiatry Team.
2. Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate biomechanical interventions, including strengthening and stretching exercises, strapping, neurological assessments, advanced casting, orthotic device management, steroid injections, and liaison with surgical and wound care teams.
3. Follow evidence-based guidelines for managing patients with biomechanical issues and those with diabetes or other conditions affecting foot health.
4. Provide foot health education and participate in training for patients, carers, and health professionals.
5. Supervise student placements and adhere to departmental and trust policies, maintaining high standards of hygiene and equipment control.
