Hays are working in partnership with a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in County Tyrone, who are seeking a Buyer to support ongoing production and operational requirements. This is a site-based role within a fast-paced environment where procurement plays a critical role in business continuity.
Your new role
1. Purchase consumables and materials to support day-to-day production
2. Maintain stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages
3. Manage supplier orders, including long lead-time items
4. Process approved purchase orders through the ERP system
5. Liaise with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and performance
6. Support cost control and identify savings where possible
7. Work closely with internal teams to meet operational needs
8. Produce basic procurement and supplier performance reports
9. Ensurepliance with quality standards and health & safety procedures
What you'll need to succeed
10. Previous experience in a buying or procurement role
11. Experience using purchasing or ERP systems
12. Able to work with suppliers on pricing, orders, and deliveries
13. Good organisational skills with attention to detail
14. Confident using Excel and basic reporting tools
15. Strongmunication skills and ability to work with different teams
16. Ability to manage priorities and work independently
17. Relevant qualification or practical experience in supply chain, business, or manufacturing (desirable)
