Job Opportunity: SENCO – SEN School – Full-Time – Short-Term – Start ASAP
A specialist SEN school is seeking a proactive and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their team on a full-time, short-term basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support a dedicated team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with a range of complex needs.
Role Overview
You will lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring that pupils receive high-quality, tailored support. The role involves working closely with staff, families, and external agencies to coordinate interventions and maintain compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee and manage SEND provision across the school
2. Support staff in identifying and meeting pupils’ needs
3. Coordinate and maintain EHCPs and related documentation
4. Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
5. Monitor pupil progress and lead on effective interventions
Requirements
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
7. National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)
8. Experience working in SEN settings
9. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
