We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our Knowledge and Development team. This role is ideal for individuals with substantial experience in complex environments, including but not limited to regulatory or legal settings. The successful candidates will have a proven track record in delivering continuous improvement and knowledge development initiatives.
The role
As a Knowledge and Development Manager, you will be part of a dedicated team to enhance the quality, timeliness, and decision-making in SRA investigations and enforcement actions. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving technical skills and expertise across teams, ensuring high-quality investigations through a thorough understanding of our Standards and Regulations. Your role will involve close collaboration with the Lead Knowledge and Development Manager (line manager of the team), Heads of Investigations and Directors to proactively identify opportunities for improvement, fostering a culture of proactive continuous improvement across the Investigation and Enforcement directorate.
In this important role, you will provide high-quality reports to senior colleagues on the timeliness and quality of investigations, offering valuable insights into learning and best practices. You will identify organisational learning and training priorities across investigation teams, ensuring the effective delivery of training, guidance, and briefings to meet identified needs and support professional development.
This role will report to the Lead Knowledge and Development Manager.

What we are looking for
* Experience of working in a regulatory or complex environment, and/or experience of working in legal practice. Must be able to demonstrate a good awareness of our role as a regulator, with up to date and significant understanding of the external legal, political and economic influencing factors.
* Significant experience in driving high standards, assuring and improving quality of decision making and service, developing technical skills and knowledge across large operational teams.
* Experience of delivering business change programmes across operational teams.
* Evidence of working in a dynamic environment with ability to work under pressure with competing and changing priorities.
* Strong collaboration and influencing skills to develop and implement solutions to complex and challenging issues.
* Experienced decision maker on complex or technical issues at senior levels.

This is a hybrid role, and we are recruiting for this role in our Birmingham, Cardiff, and London offices. You will be based in the office nearest to your location, with the expectation of working 1-2 days a week in the office and the remainder of the week from home.
The starting salary for this role is from £59,449, depending on knowledge, skills and experience. For those eligible, an additional 10% London weighting will apply.
