An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader to join a dynamic and progressive hospital in Swansea. This is a fantastic chance for an experienced vet to step into a leadership role within a collaborative, forward thinking environment where clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning are at the heart of everything they do.
The hospital offers a modern, well-equipped clinical setting, designed to support high standards of patient care and professional development. Facilities include separate dog and cat wards, advanced imaging such as digital radiography and ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and comprehensive orthopaedic equipment. With a team that brings a wide variety of clinical interests and expertise, you’ll benefit from regular case discussions and a shared approach to delivering the very best outcomes for patients.
In this role, you will take the lead on clinical governance, guiding and supporting the Veterinary Surgeon team to deliver an efficient, compassionate, and high quality service to the local community. You’ll play a key role in shaping standards, driving performance, and ensuring a consistent, evidence-based approach to patient care. This position is particularly well suited to a Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias who enjoys taking ownership of cases, making pragmatic clinical decisions, and developing their leadership within a supportive team environment.
Beyond clinical responsibilities, you will be instrumental in building and developing the team, overseeing recruitment, mentoring colleagues, and fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement. Strong communication skills will be essential, enabling you to build trust with clients and lead by example within the practice.
This is more than just a leadership role, it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact within a practice that genuinely values its people.
