Job description
The position is full time and fixed term for 36 months.
Loughborough University is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of Perturbation Theory for Dynamical Systems to conduct research under the direction of Prof Anatoly Neishtadt on the EPSRC funded project "Maximal delay in stability loss phenomenon”.
The project aims to develop a systematic asymptotic description of the maximal delay of stability loss phenomenon at slow passage through a bifurcation for systems with slowly varying parameters.
The appointee will be based in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, which has a vibrant community of researchers.
Candidates should have (or be close to completing) a PhD in Mathematics and be interested in conducting research on perturbation theory for dynamical systems. The role involves rigorous mathematical analysis complemented by supporting numerical investigations.
For informal discussions about this role please contact Prof Anatoly Neishtadt, ().
