We are looking for reliable, practical individuals to join our BANK team as Mental Health Support Workers at Baldock Manor Hospital. Whether you’re beginning your career in care or want to apply your existing experience in a more meaningful setting, this role is your chance to help people - and build a career you can be proud of.
In this hands-on, people-focused role, you’ll work as part of a supportive team helping adults with complex mental health needs. Every day is different - and brings the chance to learn, grow, and do real good.
What You’ll Do
* Participation in the application of care plans while ensuring interventions and observations are communicated effectively with senior members of the team.
* Maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, beneficial to the needs of residents, relatives and other carers.
* Promoting a positive attitude toward mental health & rehabilitation.
* Aside to your hands-on responsibilities, there is also a small amount of administration (Record keeping, booking your holidays, edit/create care-plans, publish/view your hours).
What You’ll Bring
* A practical mindset and a willingness to learn
* Strong communication - listening, talking, and being clear with others
* Ability to follow routines and think on your feet when needed
* Team spirit and flexibility - day and night shifts available
* Basic IT confidence for using systems and records
Your Experience
* Experience working in any team-focused environment
* An understanding of how mental health can affect daily life
* At least one year’s experience in a support role - preferably in mental health or related settings
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care preferred
* Competent IT skills
* An ability to take direction and to follow detailed policies and protocols
* Good communication skills: tact, diplomacy and active listening
* Good organisational skills and time management
* Flexible and adaptable to change
Who You Are
* Calm under pressure and dependable
* Respectful, practical, and people-focused
* Comfortable working shifts and routines
* Open to new skills, with full training provided
