We are looking for a Security Assistant for our Safety Assessment site based in Tranent.
The standard working pattern will be Monday to Friday 8.00am-4.00pm.
The following responsibilities related to the Security Assistant role:
1. Opening delivery entrance gate at 8:00am.
2. Management of goods in vehicular access gate to site.
3. Controlling delivery vehicle entry and exit from site.
4. Maintaining records and documentation applicable to delivery vehicle movement.
5. Supporting entrance maintenance duties as required (snow clearing etc).
6. Closing the delivery entrance gate at 4:00pm.
7. Monitoring CCTV.
8. To participate in covering colleague annual leave/sickness and ensure smooth running of the security provision.
9. Controlling staff and visitor entry and exit from site.
10. Custody, issue and control of keys.
11. Building and site patrols.
12. Initiating early response to emergencies.
13. Monitoring of CCTV feed from multiple facilities.
14. Monitoring and reacting accordingly to the intruder detection and surveillance system across multiple facilities.
15. Physical locking / unlocking of off-site facilities, therefore a current driving licence is desirable.
16. Administration duties – raising of PO’s, supporting with internal Maximo system as required.
17. Undertake other duties requested by Facilities Manager.
The following minimum requirements related to the Security Assistant role:
You will be enthusiastic, an effective communicator and have proven written, verbal and numeric skills. The ability to follow standard operating procedures during any potential emergency. Keyboard and basic IT skills are essential with experience of Microsoft Windows based databases being an advantage. As the first point of contact, Security staff must create an excellent first impression therefore proven customer service skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels are essential.
Previous experience of working in a security environment is desirable but not essential. A uniform will be provided for the successful candidate.
Salary: £23,842.35 per annum.
