THE POSITION
They are on the search for a stand out senior production manager to control and manage all aspects of production, ensuring all workflows are successfully deployed throughout the business in a cost-effective manner effectively and professionally.
The Head of Production will provide leadership whilst supervising day to day operations in the production department and in partnership with the shop floor manager act as a conduit between the client services team and the production floor.
You will plan, control, organise and monitor the flow of multiple client print & mailing campaigns including machine allocation to ensure maximum performance with minimum delay.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILTIES
Oversee and manage the efficient and professional running of the production department in accordance with the production plan, escalating any issues, as necessary to the Managing Director, communicating plan for resolution.
Liaise directly with the sales & client services and account management team to ensure projects are mailed within required SLAs.
Control the workflow, scheduling and quality control through the integrated MIS – Tharstern.
Monitor the daily workflow. Align the day-to day work of the production team with production benchmarks.
Lead and work as an effective member of the production management team, along with other functions within the production area, to ensure production output meets dispatch requirements
Manage and delegate work to departmental managers ensuring completion of workload as per production plans.
Oversee, communicate and monitor daily production objectives along with performance progress and targets of operatives instigating performance improvement plans as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Strong print production background – 5+ years at senior level
2. Proven ability to lead high performing teams
3. A demonstrable background in production and leadership
4. Hands on experience of fast paced manufacturing
5. Ability to analyse data to drive performance
6. A successful track record in training and developing talented employees
7. Experience of leading and managing motivated teams
8. A proven continuous improvement skill set
9. Experience in fast paced growing company
10. Ability to work well under pressure – hit targets in a fast-paced environment
11. Able to effectively multitask, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
12. Experience of working with litho, digital print. fulfilment & mailing knowledge would be an added bonus
13. IT skills and Print MIS experience
14. Keen eye and attention to detail
15. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
16. Ability to self-manage in an organised manner
17. Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
18. Exceptional planning and project management abilities
19. Commercially aware
20. Flexible to work out of hours when required
