As Assistant Director of Regulated Activity you’ll be overseeing a blended model of in-house direct labour teams and external supply chain partners, leading your teams to deliver effective building, mechanical, electrical and regulated compliance works.

You’ll be delivering against KPI’s ensuring continuous improvement and customer safety across gas, fire, water, electrical, lifts, M&E and asbestos.

Working alongside the senior team you’ll be shaping and implementing property compliance, delivery strategies supporting the delivery of effective building/property regulatory compliance in line with statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.

You’ll find new ways of working, including the use of digital solutions enabling our business to be more effective, agile and responsive. You will take a forward thinking and outward looking approach to decision making.

Key accountabilities in the role will include:



* Shaping and contributing to Aster Group’s long tern compliance strategy, ensuing alignment with national housing policy and emerging legislation
* Leading on the effective management of statutory compliance, ensuring all regulatory and legislative responsibility for gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety, legionella, water and lifts are maintained
* Overseeing the delivery of regulatory repairs within the required timelines such as Damp, Mould and Condensation, Disrepair cases and HHSRS related complex repairs
* Responsibility for preparing and presenting detailed assurance, risk and performance reports to senior leadership teams
* Ensuring services delivered have customers at the heart of decision making, proving excellent customer service which prioritises keeping customers safe




About you

You’ll be professionally qualified in a construction or building related discipline and will have demonstrable relevant experience.

You will have significant experience in managing a large social housing asset portfolio and/or working in a regulated compliance sector as Head of/Director level.

You’ll be a proven leader with experience of proactively leading and managing large multi-disciplined teams, with a track record of motivating, coaching and inspiring high performing teams.

Your career will demonstrate a track record of leading strategic business development and leading a business or large team through several cycles of business planning/execution.

You’ll have a proven ability to effectively set and manage large and varied budgets, analyse trends and forecast effectively, ensuring value for money and demonstrating strong commercial acumen.

This role is a hybrid role, you will be able to base yourself from home if you wish. The role will require travel from time to time, so you’ll be happy to travel within our operating region.

Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
