Manufacturing Engineer Milling

Rate: £50 £55 per hour (Umbrella) OR up to £48,000 per annum
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer specialising in advanced 5-axis milling operations to support their growing aerospace programmes. As a CNC Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimising, and supporting complex milling processes within a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure robust, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class engineering environment delivering high-precision components to the global aerospace market.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement CNC manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components
* Create and optimise 5-axis milling programs (online and offline)
* Programme using Siemens NX CAD/CAM
* Support and improve machining strategies for high-value, tight-tolerance components
* Reduce cycle times while maintaining aerospace quality standards
* Lead process validation, first article inspections, and PPAP support where required
* Provide technical support to shop floor machinists
* Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across milling operations
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience as a CNC Manufacturing Engineer within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing
* Strong expertise in 5-axis milling operations
* Experience working with DMG Mori Seiki and Mazak machining centres
* Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems
* Advanced Siemens NX CAD/CAM programming capability (online and offline)
* Experience working with complex alloys (e.g. titanium, Inconel, aluminium aerospace grades)
* Strong understanding of GD&T and aerospace quality standards
