The role
As an SEO / AI Search Strategist, you will act as the strategic lead across client accounts. This role blends account management, organic strategy and AI search expertise.
You will be the first port of call for clients, responsible for translating commercial objectives into structured roadmaps that improve visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI interfaces.
Key responsibilities
• Lead client relationships and act as the primary strategic contact
• Run structured project kick-offs with clear milestones and success metrics
• Build and manage project plans across SEO, GEO and AEO workstreams
• Translate strategy into clear execution plans across content and technical teams
• Deliver performance reporting and present strategic recommendations
• Identify opportunities for account growth
• Contribute to the evolution of FirstMotion's AI Search methodology
What success looks like in 12 months
• Confidently leading multiple retained client accounts
• Delivering measurable improvements in organic performance and AI visibility
• Establishing clear reporting frameworks tied to commercial outcomes
• Contributing to proprietary frameworks and case studies
• Supporting client retention and expansion
Experience and skills
• 4 to 8+ years in an SEO agency environment
• Experience as an Account Manager, Senior SEO Strategist or similar
• Strong understanding of technical SEO, authority building and content strategy
• Exposure to AI Search, GEO, AEO or LLM optimisation preferred
• Confident communicating with senior stakeholders
• Commercially aware and comfortable owning revenue-linked accounts
