We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Lewes, a CAT B Mens Prison.

HMP Lewes operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your work will impact prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community, ensuring smooth and safe operations.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements:
* Two years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
* Knowledge of Water Supply Regulations and Legionella L8 control
* Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
* Understanding of health and safety requirements
* Qualifications: C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
* Strong health and safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills
