Admin Assistant/Receptionist

This vacancy provides an exciting opportunity for thesuccessful candidate to work in a busy appointments department and be part ofthe much larger department which is AHP Central Admin.
Applicants are invited for AdminAssistant/Receptionist to provide support to the Adult Allied HealthProfessionals Central Appointment Service delivering on appointment booking andreferral management.
Main duties of the job
Post holder will be expected to contribute to housekeepingand other office duties as required e.g scanning, printing, photocopying etc.
Post holder will be expected to book a high volume ofappointments in a timely manner via Liberty phone system.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, efficientadmin service for the Adult AHP clinical teams
To provide a high standard of support to Clinical staff.
To use an electronic referral process (SystmOne) to ensurerequests are responded to in a professional,confidential and efficient manner.
To receive and respond to requests from patients andcarers, acute hospitals, GP practices, Social Services and health care agencies.
To communicate directly with members of the public andother services.
To abide by Trust policies and procedures
To deal with incoming and outgoing patients andcarers

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Qualifications
* Good Standard of Education - Minimum of
* 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at C Grade or above including English Language
* NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge/experience (or working towards)
Experience
*. Experience of an administrative role
* providing general provision of administrative duties in a challenging and constantly changing environment
*. Demonstrate Experience of using Microsoft Word
*. Experience in setting up and maintaining office filing systems
*. Experience in planning and organising meetings and taking notes
*. Experience of providing administrative support to a team
*. Experience of working within an NHS Environment

*. Ability to travel independently across the County to fulfil the requirements of the post.

* Knowledge of computer packages, e.g.
