A friendly, well-established company in Portsmouth are seeking a new Accounts Assistant to join their team due to growth. The successful candidate will be assisting across the finance team, with opportunity to get involved in different aspects of accounts. You will be responsible for: Sales ledger - high volume of invoice creation, entering data onto systems accurately and in a timely manner so all sales ledger information is accurate Purchase ledger - Entering purchase data onto systems, assisting with matching payments, batching, coding and payment runs Assisting Senior Accountants with other duties such as processing and providing data needed for month end, assisting with reconciliations where needed A good general knowledge of double-entry accounting would be beneficial for this role, as you will be working across all aspects of the accounts department. However, the company could consider someone close to entry level who has studied accounts previously and has some knowledge. This role is full-time in office, it is being offered on a circa 12 month contract.
