We are now seeking a Head of Legal Sector Business Development to strengthen and expand our legal practice. This is a strategic role, designed for someone with proven expertise in the legal recruitment sector who is looking for the opportunity to shape the future direction of a fast-growing search firm.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will report directly to our Head of Legal, working in close partnership to define and execute the growth strategy of the practice. This direct reporting line offers you unique exposure to strategic planning, market positioning, and future landscape development within the legal sector.
You will be responsible not only for driving business development activity but also for contributing to the long-term vision of how H&P builds and deepens client partnerships across law firms, in-house legal teams, and global institutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, formalise, and expand client relationships across the legal division, with a focus on long-term strategic partnerships.
* Collaborate with the Head of Legal to shape the growth agenda and influence the direction of the practice.
* Work alongside consultants to align client needs with tailored search solutions and ensure excellence in delivery.
* Design and implement structured account plans that drive sustainable growth and client retention.
* Represent H&P at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities, positioning us as a trusted advisor in the market.
* Contribute to the evolution of our client experience strategy, ensuring consistency and quality across all touchpoints.
Candidate Profile
* Extensive experience in business development within the legal recruitment sector or professional services.
* Demonstrable track record of building and scaling client accounts at a senior level.
* Strong understanding of the legal market and its future trends, both domestically and internationally.
* Commercially astute, with the ability to identify and develop opportunities that align with strategic goals.
* A confident and credible communicator, skilled in influencing senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
* Highly organised, proactive, and self-driven, with the gravitas to take ownership and deliver results.
