Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £65,000 per annum + Car allowance
The Role:
* Deliver mechanical building services projects from pre‑construction through to completion and handover
* Manage multiple mechanical projects simultaneously at a senior delivery level
* Report directly to the Mechanical Director
* Attend project handover meetings and take ownership of projects post‑award
* Coordinate design development with internal teams, external designers, and mechanical consultants
* Review mechanical and electrical packages, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
* Procure materials, plant, and specialist subcontract services in line with programme and budget
* Coordinate labour resources, including direct labour and subcontractors
* Manage RFIs, technical submittals, drawing registers, and approval processes
* Ensure coordinated working drawings and plant schedules are produced to the required standard
* Manage project programmes, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication
* Control project costs, valuations, variations, and cash flow
* Attend progress meetings, design coordination workshops, and lifecycle reviews
* Act as the main point of contact for project delivery

The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager
* Track record delivering mechanical building services projects valued between £500k and £5m
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical services including heating, ventilation, cooling, plant, pipework, and domestic services
* Experience delivering both design & build and pre‑designed mechanical projects
* Good commercial awareness, particularly around variations, procurement, and cost control
