Title: IT Manager

Reports to: Managing Director

Founded in Newtownards, we proudly serve bathroom retailers across Ireland and the UK. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead our IT function during this exciting growth period and beyond.


Role Purpose

The IT Manager will lead the management, security and development of the company’s technology, ensuring systems are stable, secure, and fully aligned with business needs. The role combines hands‑on technical oversight with vendor management and strategic project leadership, supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement across the business.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Department Oversight

* Provide strategic direction and leadership in the IT function, shaping the IT Roadmap
* Line management and development of the data function, ensuring clear accountability and alignment with business goals.
* Foster a collaborative, results‑driven culture based on shared success
* Create and implement robust but concise IT policies that support efficient practices


Systems & Infrastructure Management

* Ensure the stability, security, and resilience of all IT systems and infrastructure, with the agreed service partner.
* Act as the key point of contact and relationship owner for infrastructure partner, overseeing delivery performance, setting SLAs and managing proactive service improvements.
* Manage disaster recovery and business continuity processes, including scheduled testing and documentation.
* Oversee data integrity, cybersecurity compliance, and strong governance across all platforms.
* Manage the ERP supplier relationship, ensuring system development, support, and enhancement align with business priorities.
* Oversee other key systems and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations, including incident management, issue resolution, and user support.
* Negotiate and review contracts, monitor performance, and ensure clear accountability with service providers (e.g., Nimbus, Kerridge, cloud platforms, network providers).
* Act as the internal escalation point for supplier performance and service delivery issues.
* Champion cybersecurity and compliance, including management of business GDPR needs


Reporting, Accountability & Business Improvement

* Deliver daily and monthly systems performance reporting with clarity and actionable insights.
* Communicate consistently with department heads and project stakeholders, ensuring relevant information is shared in a timely manner.
* Role model ownership and accountability, ensuring commitments are completed to standard and on time.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using technology and data insights.
* Support development of business intelligence and reporting capabilities across departments.


Essential Experience & Skills

* Proven experience in IT management or senior infrastructure leadership within an SME environment.
* Strong background in systems administration, networking, and cloud platforms.
* Experience managing ERP systems and using ERP insights to drive business improvement.
* Demonstrated success in managing supplier and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance management.
* Strong understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.
* Excellent project management skills, with experience delivering multi‑site or business‑critical technology projects.
* Experience working with Nimbus, K8 and Phocas
* Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, and other cloud‑based management tools.
