Job Title: Behaviour Mentor\n\nLocation: Stamford/Oakham\n\nContract Type: Full-Time With potential for Perm Role\n\nStart Date: September (Start of New Academic Year) \n\nJoin Our Passionate Team and Make a Real Difference\n\nAre you an empathetic, resilient, and inspiring individual with a passion for helping young people thrive? a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school, is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their full potential.\n\nAbout Us\n\nThe school caters for children and young people aged 6-17 with SEMH needs, often including additional challenges such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma or behavioural difficulties. Providing a nurturing, therapeutic, and supportive environment where every student is seen, heard, and valued.\n\nThe school's mission is to create a safe, consistent and inspiring space for our learners to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Behaviour Mentor, you will:\n\nBuild strong, positive relationships with students to support emotional regulation and behaviour for learning\n\nWork closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals\n\nUse restorative and trauma-informed approaches to manage challenging behaviours\n\nDeliver 1:1 or small group interventions tailored to students’ individual needs\n\nProvide daily support in and out of the classroom to ensure a consistent and safe learning environment\n\nBe a role model, demonstrating emotional intelligence, patience and resilience\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nExperience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school, youth work, PRU, or care settings)\n\nA calm, compassionate and proactive approach to behaviour management\n\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations\n\nAbility to work as part of a multidisciplinary team\n\nCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people\n\nRelevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, or behaviour support are desirable but not essential\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nA supportive and inclusive team who value your wellbeing\n\nOngoing CPD and training in areas such as de-escalation, trauma-informed practice and attachment theory\n\nA truly rewarding role where you will make a tangible difference every day\n\nApply Now\n\nIf you are passionate about improving the life chances of vulnerable young people and believe you have the skills and mindset to support their journey, we’d love to hear from you.\n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
