Role overview Burton's Biscuits are the home of some of the UK’s most iconic biscuit brands, including Maryland Cookies, Jammie Dodgers, Wagon Wheels, Thomas Fudges & Paterson Arran Shortbread. Along with having amazing brands, we have secured long term agreements to allow us to manufacture sweet & savoury snacks under brands from Mars Confectionery, Cathedral City & Marmite, we are also a key player in manufacturing Retailer Own Brand biscuits. Are you interested in the maintenance of Machinery, enjoy problem solving and have experience of a fast paced environment? If yes Burton's Biscuits need YOU to join our Operations team as a Part-Time Evening Machine Operator on a Permanent Contract. As a Machine Operator you will be monitoring the finished biscuits on one of our production lines whilst managing the packing of the finished product, setting up and maintaining the machines during Production run on Packing Floor through the final stages of wrapping the biscuits. You will also be responsible for changing machines between Production runs. It’s a fast paced role and requires a certain level of fitness as it does have a large element of physical work in order to complete the tasks to a high standard. Attention to detail is key as we pride ourselves in the quality of our products. You will be numerate, literate, flexible, self-motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision and use own initiative. Previous experience of a fast paced environment and working as part of a team is essential. Previous Machine Operator experience is desirable, but not essential as training can be given but being comfortable around machinery is essential as you will be responsible for maintaining the machines. You will also enjoy learning new skills and have a basic understanding of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene. Rate: £214.20 per Week (£10.71 per hour) Contract: Permanent, Weekly Paid Hours: Part Time 20 Hours (5x 4 Hour Shifts).
