Overview of the role
Whether you are new to the industry or have come from a social care background, we welcome your application. You will be provided with in-house training when you start work with Choice Care. Working alongside our permanent staff team, not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll also be able to enjoy days out, trips away, and participate in many activities, all of which ensure the people we work with are safe, happy, and lead fulfilling lives.
Key duties
* Providing personal care – including bathing, toileting, dressing, and help with feeding
* Medication administration
* Assisting and participating in residents' daily activities, hobbies, or outings
* Following care plan guidance alongside company policies and procedures
* Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
* Maintaining written daily records
* Attending and completing training, as required

Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player, and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Bank Social Care Worker.

Where will you work?
Otterbourne House, opened in 2015, is specifically designed to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism. The home currently supports up to seven men and women of various ages with complex needs, who may also have secondary mental health conditions such as personality disorder, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. Located in the village of Compton, near Winchester, Otterbourne House offers structured activity programs to support education and personal development, aiming to maximize independence and help residents achieve their goals. Activities include swimming, bowling, trips to the cinema and zoo, going clubbing, and visits to Weymouth and Moors Valley. Residents are supported 24/7 and have access to our in-house Positive Behaviour Support Team to promote their emotional and overall wellbeing.
