Central Alliance part of the RSK Group have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Land Surveyor to join their growing team in Wakefield, UK.
The role is based out of the Wakefield Office, but involves nationwide work in the field and travel, with overnight stays in hotels. This is a full-time, permanent position, accountable to the Associate Director.
This role provides support to the Survey division through the allocation of project tasks and survey activities. Responsibilities
* Adhere to working instructions from internal and external clients.
* Carry out topographical and associated geomatic surveys, using Total Station, 3D Laser Scanning and GNSS observations in line with company procedures and best practice.
* Undertake post processing of data and production of outputs using survey software.
* Compile survey reports and documentation in conjunction with the Project & CAD Manager.
* Maintain vehicles and survey equipment in line with company expectations.
* Undertake internal and external training as part of a personal professional development plan.
* Demonstrate a keen attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
* Provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
* Adhere to all RSK company policies and client policies and procedures when on site.
* Maintain and develop technical knowledge, such as British Standards and industry standards, with company support.
About You
* Minimum of 5 years industry experience in a similar role.
* Experience in the use of Total Stations and GNSS is essential.
* Experience in the use of 3D Laser Scanners is preferred but not essential.
* Experience of using n4ce and Trimble Realworks software is desirable but not essential.
* CSCS card holder essential.
* Relevant NVQ or degree level qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses as required by qualifications.
* Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and also work solo using own initiative.
* Self-motivated, solutions-focused, organized with effective time management.
* Professional and polite in business conduct at all times.
* Familiar with data management tools and reporting software including Microsoft Office; training provided on other software as needed.
* Adaptable to variable working environments and able to work remotely around the UK, including from home when agreed. Possibility of some overseas travel.
* Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
* Manual, valid UK driving licence.
* Commitment to safety and improving ways of working.
* Unrestricted work rights in the United Kingdom.
