Overview
Join us as an AI Engineering Lead for Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management, where you lead the design, deployment, and governance of AI‑enabled solutions, supporting the adoption of Agentic AI across the organisation to enhance front‑office productivity, improve client experiences, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
The role will include leading engineering teams delivering AI and cloud‑based solutions, defining technical approaches and deployment strategies for AI‑enabled platforms, and working closely with stakeholders across business, architecture, risk, and security functions to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
* Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
* Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimise team productivity.
* Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
* Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high‑quality solutions.
Qualifications
* Proven experience working across security, governance, architecture, and business stakeholders, navigating complex enterprise environments.
* Demonstrated experience deploying and managing applications on AWS, including Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, and related services for scalable AI solutions.
* Familiarity with ML model deployment pipelines, monitoring, versioning, and automated testing frameworks for AI applications.
* Experience with vector stores (Pinecone, Weaviate, or AWS OpenSearch) and semantic search implementations for context‑aware AI applications.
* Experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs and designing scalable, event‑driven architectures for AI‑powered services.
* Proven ability to design, test, and optimise prompts for Anthropic models, including implementing RAG patterns and managing model interactions.
* Strong risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology capabilities.
