The Opportunity: Accounts Assistant Contract: 12 Month FTC Location: Tottenham We are based in North London and have been providing material handling solutions ever since we established ourselves in 1994. Now with more than 25 years' experience, we are the leading forklift supplier for London and the South East. Hiremech is part of The Briggs Equipment Group who are a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. The Impact you will have: Monitoring Banking and funds Bank reconciliation on a daily basis Closing Protean and generating month end reports Draw down funds from Treasury in timely manner to ensure suppliers are paid on time Set up supplier payment run twice a month Banking of cheques and cash Provide support and cover for Accounts Receivable as/when required Updating Sage/Protean, setting up suppliers Payroll data collated and sent over to head office Producing bad debt reports on a weekly and monthly basis. Escalating to the MD and going legal when required. Resolving accounts queries for payables and receivables Crediting and invoicing manually where necessary. Update cash flow and day book on a weekly basis Respond to internal and external financial queries in a timely manner Maintain organised and up-to-date accounting files and documentation Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports at month end Support on ad hoc tasks & projects with the Finance Manager What will help you to excel in this role: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in using accounting software and Excel. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial tasks. Good organisational and time management skills. The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable.
