This is a pivotal strategic leadership role, with responsibility for Inclusion, SEND (as SENDCO), EHCP processes, admissions and transitions, outreach and partnership work, and multi agency collaboration. Working closely with the Headteacher, governors and Trust colleagues, you will play a central role in shaping provision, strengthening systems and ensuring outstanding experiences and outcomes for all pupils. The successful candidate will be a model of professional excellence, taking a hands on, visible approach to leadership by working alongside staff to support, challenge and improve practice. They will be a highly reflective, evidence informed leader, able to identify priorities, implement improvement and clearly demonstrate measurable impact on practice, culture and outcomes for pupils. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to whole school leadership, deputise for the Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher when required and model exceptional professional practice. The role includes a teaching commitment and opportunities to work across other Trust schools where appropriate. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic leadership for Inclusion and SEND, ensuring high quality, ambitious and person centred provision for all pupils. • Fulfil the role of SENDCO, leading EHCP processes, funding applications, statutory compliance and multi agency coordination. • Ensure that curriculum, assessment and provision are accessible, inclusive and responsive to diverse and complex needs. • Lead admissions and transitions, ensuring pupils and families experience safe, well planned and supported entry into school. • Champion the progress and wellbeing of disadvantaged pupils, including those eligible for Pupil Premium and Children in Care. • Lead and develop the school’s outreach and partnership work, sharing best practice and supporting SEND provision across other settings. • Use data and evidence to monitor impact, inform strategic decisions and drive sustained improvement. • Support day to day leadership of the school and deputise for the Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher as required. • Promote high expectations, inclusive values and a strong culture of collaboration and professional learning. • Lead and contribute to school self evaluation, improvement planning and quality assurance processes. • Model excellent teaching and support high quality CPD for staff across the school. ________________________________________ About You: You will: • Be passionate about inclusive education and improving life chances for children with complex and additional needs. • Have a proven track record of strategic leadership and contributing to whole school improvement. • Be an excellent classroom practitioner, with experience across a range of needs and ages. • Have strong experience of SEND leadership, EHCP processes and statutory frameworks. • Be confident using assessment and data to evaluate impact and improve outcomes. • Be a credible, calm and inspiring leader, able to motivate, challenge and support others. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with parents, governors and external professionals. • Embody trauma informed and attachment aware practice.
