Job Description We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join one of our prestigious clients based in Derby This is for a leading engineering firm dedicated to delivering repair services to the railway industry, with a focus on rolling stock. They pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, with annual sales of more than £4 million. Youll play a pivotal role in managing and executing engineering projects and production processes. Youll serve as the primary point of contact for technical queries, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues. Additionally, you will provide cost estimates and timelines for additional work that may arise. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position What youll be doing Be the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams regarding technical queries Provide accurate costs and timelines for additional work arising from investigations Write technical documents, specifically engineering work instructions (EWIs), to ensure clear and concise guidance for production teams Lead and facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings, involving management teams, work operatives (including welders and non-welders), sales teams and production teams to drive successful product launches Complete Bill of Materials (BOMs) accurately and efficiently to support production planning and procurement activities Utilise CAD experience to enhance design processes and support project development efforts Demonstrate a keen attention to detail in all aspects of work, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to specifications Interpret engineering drawings and effectively communicate technical information to team members with varying levels of expertise Hours Monday-Thursday 7am-3:30pm & 7am-12pm on Friday (flexibility required) Pay Up to £40,000 (Depending on experience) Skills/Experience Required Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field Must have a valid UK driving licence Experience in project management, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment Experience in writing technical documents, such as engineering work instructions (EWIs) Able to lead and facilitate NPI (New Product Introduction) meetings Proficiency in completing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and utilising CAD software Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results Ability to interpret engineering drawings Willingness to travel and work on customer sites as needed Some knowledge of welding would be advantageous Benefits 25 days holiday Bank Holidays Company events Company pension Free On-site parking Private dental insurance Private medical insurance Referral programme Relocation assistance Sick pay Canteen Casual dress Flexible working hours Health & wellbeing programme Day shifts Monday to Friday Overtime available Progression available Essential All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship not provided).
