Facilities Assistant – ISS
Location: Birmingham | Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
We are seeking a Facilities Assistant to join our ISS Integrated Solutions team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will support the efficient and cost-effective delivery of facilities services on site, ensuring high standards of service, health & safety compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day-to-day site operations, including supervising cleaners, reception, and technical staff where applicable
* Liaise with maintenance teams to monitor planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
* Manage work orders via CAFM systems, coordinating with contractors and ISS Technical teams
* Maintain site security procedures, including Business Continuity Plans and incident logs
* Assist with budget management, purchase orders, and control of office supplies
* Manage staff and visitor access, site inductions, and health & safety compliance
* Coordinate meeting rooms, furniture movements, and audio-visual equipment
* Support reporting, data collection, and site-specific documentation
1. Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe, healthy, and secure environment, ensuring compliance with all H&S legislation
* Conduct fire safety management, testing alarms, and attending HS&E site meetings
* Report incidents and near misses, supporting investigations as required
Skills & Experience
* Knowledge of facilities services and health & safety practices
* Proactive, positive attitude with strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Team leadership experience where applicable
* SIA license and flexibility to work within required hours
