Technologist – Fresh Produce
Are you passionate about fresh produce, food safety, and building strong grower and customer relationships?
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Technologist to join our Technical Team in Evesham — supporting all things quality, compliance, and innovation across our fresh produce supply base (including organic lines).
This is a hands-on, varied role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves getting into the detail — from supplier approval to pesticide management and customer meetings.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage supplier approval and support the due diligence process.
* Keeping the approved supplier list up to date and ensuring all records and TA037s are accurate.
* Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customer technologists — attending meetings, preparing trackers, and supporting with quality or specification queries.
* Providing fruit technology expertise to both growers and customers, spotting opportunities for improvement.
* Managing ethical compliance (Sedex, SMETA) and ensuring supplier actions are completed.
* Overseeing pesticide and microbiology testing, tracking results, and implementing corrective actions.
* Supporting BRCGS documentation and conducting internal audits.
* Maintaining organic and Fairtrade standards and supporting new product launches and seasonal reviews.
* Visiting suppliers and growers to complete audits and build relationships across the supply base.
* Supporting production, quality control, and NPD teams to keep everything running smoothly.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience within the fresh produce sector – ideally fruit or salad categories.
* A good understanding of food safety, legality, and environmental regulations, including organic certification.
* Knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, ethical trading, and pesticide management.
* Excellent communication, IT, and relationship-building skills.
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work independently.
* Degree in a relevant science or food-related subject.
* (Bonus points for a second language and auditing experience!)
