Joiner/Joinery Technician – Repairs and Maintenance (South Yorkshire)

We are looking for a joiner/ joinery technician to join our Repairs and Maintenance team for the South Yorkshire area. As a joiner you will provide all types of joinery repairs to tenanted and vacant properties, delivering a high‑quality, customer‑service‑driven repair and maintenance service.
Responsibilities
* Carry out all types of joinery repairs to tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, appointment slots, specifications, contract drawings, good practice, Building Regulations, etc.
* Adopt a “Right First Time” ethos, completing a repair where practicable in one visit and ensuring high‑quality workmanship.
* Organise your work to minimise lost or non‑productive time and communicate proactively about workload – too much or too little work so it can be re‑allocated.
* Assist in addressing peaks and troughs in workload by working overtime and at other times when requested by prior arrangement with your manager; participate in a stand‑by or call‑out rota.
* Use initiative to diagnose and undertake repairs that may differ from the job required, obtaining approval for more expensive or longer‑time jobs.
* Work to a consistently high standard of workmanship in line with service specification, service standards, safe working procedures and as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Full manual UK driver’s licence.
* Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified joiner/ joinery technician, plus associated building disciplines as required.
* Relevant qualification and experience, e.g. City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent (NVQ Level 2).
* Experience working in a customer‑service environment.
* Experience of maximising number of jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit.
