Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Qualified Accountant Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in setting up our accounting processes, managing financial transactions, and producing accurate monthly and year-end accounts. This position is suited for an individual with a strong understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and a passion for contributing to the success of a new business venture with a £5 million order book.
About Us
Detect & Protect Limited is a leading fire sprinkler business dedicated to providing innovative fire safety solutions. As we establish our new accounting department to support our growing operations, we are looking for a qualified Accountant Manager with extensive experience in the construction sector.
What You Will Be Doing
* Financial Management: Manage the complete accounting cycle, including transaction processing, monthly reconciliations, and year-end financial statements.
* CIS Compliance: Ensure compliance with CIS regulations, including accurate tax deductions, reporting, and submissions to HMRC.
* Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, and forecasts to senior management.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash flow forecasts to support operational decision-making.
* Process Improvement: Establish and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and accurate financial reporting.
* Team Leadership: Oversee and manage any junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
* Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
* Audits: Coordinate and support internal and external audits as required.
Requirements
* Education: A recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
* Experience: Minimum of 2 year's experience in accounting within the construction sector, with a proven track record of producing financial statements.
* Technical Skills: Strong understanding of CIS and relevant tax legislation; proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
* Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

* Salary Range: £40k - £45k, negotiable based on experience.
