IPS Finance is working exclusively with a privately owned business in North Yorkshire. our client is an established and growing SME operating across a range of commercial activities.Reporting directly to the Directors, this is a broad and hands-on accounting role taking responsibility for the day-to-day finance function. The position would suit an experienced Accounts Manager, Company Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper looking for a varied role within a growing owner managed business.You will oversee the transactional finance processes whilst producing management information and maintaining accurate financial records across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging the day-to-day finance function, including sales and purchase ledger activitiesPreparing invoices, supplier payments, bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate accounting recordsProducing monthly management accounts, trial balance information, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliationsPreparing and submitting VAT returns and supporting month-end processesMonitoring cash flow, budgets and profitability across the businessProcessing expenses and preparing payroll information for external providersProducing financial reports and analysis for the Directors to support business decision-makingManaging intercompany transactions and liaising with external accountants regarding year-end accounts preparationMaintaining financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and proceduresProviding general finance and administrative support as requiredThe Successful CandidatePrevious experience in a broad accounting or finance role within an SME environmentConfident working independently and managing multiple prioritiesStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsGood communication skills and ability to work closely with business ownersExperience of accounting software such as Xero, Sage or similar would beSalary of £40,000 - £45,000IPS Finance has 45 years experience in the Yorkshire accountancy recruitment market.
