About the Role
As a Senior Construction Manager within Nottingham City Council Housing Services’ Asset Management team, you will play a key role in shaping the sustainability, safety, and quality of the city’s housing stock. You will lead the assessment, planning, and delivery of investment and planned maintenance projects, ensuring they align with resident needs, organisational priorities, and best practice. Working collaboratively with finance, contractors, community partners, and internal stakeholders, you will oversee budgets, drive performance, and champion evidence‑based decision‑making to maximise value and impact.
You will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team (circa 20‑25 employees), promoting a culture of continuous improvement, inclusion, and professional development. A vital part of the role includes engaging with residents and community groups, ensuring their voices influence service planning and project delivery.
A strong understanding of contractual frameworks, including demonstrable experience with JCT and NEC contracts, is essential to support effective contract strategy, risk management, and compliant commercial governance across capital programmes. You will represent the service with professionalism, support effective communication across teams, manage key risks, and ensure that health, safety, wellbeing, and equality considerations are embedded in all areas of delivery.
