Team/Role Overview
Bank Network Management is part of the SMB&IC Operations & Technology (O&T) Division. BNM provides best in class banking services to our business partners and clients, while strengthening regulatory compliance, governance, and control over Citi owned bank accounts. BNM global functions include: Relationship Management, Regulatory, Bank Expense Optimization, Bank Signatory Management (BSM), Third Party Risk and In Business Risk & Control.

The Relationship function is responsible for managing relationships with agent banks to provide transparency, governance, and control over real world bank accounts which Citi businesses hold globally, both with affiliates and 3rd party banks. The Senior Network Manager (SNM) position covering the Agent Bank Relationships on behalf of Citi Markets businesses.

What you'll do

Manage Banks and Custodian Bank Relationships globally on behalf of the Citi Markets businesses and account management for limited US based Citi Mortgage related business ( CNAI). This will include:

1. Establishment of the bank/custody account infrastructure required to support various Markets businesses.
2. Conduct RfP’s to identify and assess ability of bank/custodian to support activity in scope
3. Consult businesses and other interested parties (operations, legal, tax, regulatory, etc) on market practices and capabilities; assist on establishing new products; report regulatory/market changes to interested parties, and the potential impact to their businesses.
4. Close coordination with many areas of the Firm is required (Trading Desks, Securities Operations, Treasury Operations, Legal, Tax & Compliance) and the candidate will have significant external contact with Banks, Industry Organizations and Internal Regulators.
5. Negotiate fees and manage service levels to ensure best pricing and service for the Firm
6. Negotiation of and completion of documentation (SLAs, BCP and Legal Agreements) required for the establishment of relationships and the opening of accounts, and ongoing maintenance and management of that documentation.
7. Conduct formal Due Diligence on the agent banks in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements
8. Ensure Accounts are maintained in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements
9. Act as a senior escalation point within Citi and the Relationship team with respect to Agent Management.
10. Manage or actively participate in various projects involving the Network Management team, either at the market, regional, or global level.
11. Full-service support for USPB Citi Mortgage Business.

What we'll need from you

12. The ideal candidate must have a BA/BS degree plus experience in the international securities industry (in Network Management, Securities/Custody Operations, Custody/Clearance Sales or Relationship Management).
13. A good working knowledge of the securities settlement process & custody operations, cash management/services, foreign exchange, payments and derivatives (including futures) is required.
14. Experience with managing bank relationships, fee negotiation, account opening, documentation & the corresponding regulatory considerations is a must.
15. A working knowledge of SWIFT (admin, system, & industry initiatives) is a plus.
16. Highly motivated, able to work independently, self-starter, able to prioritize
17. Experience within large scale, cross-business projects
18. Project management skills and ability to multi-task
19. Strong oral and written communication skills
20. Experience with facilitating large change initiatives
21. Experience working within a large global matrix organization structure
22. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
23. The candidate should have proven relationship skills at a senior level.
24. The individual should have excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills along with time management expertise and the ability to manage many projects concurrently.
