Role Summary:
The Engagement and Outreach Learning Officer plays a key role in growing and increasing the visibility of the Business by Design (BBD) Academy. The role involves supporting both face-to-face and online programmes, building relationships with schools, colleges, and community groups, developing engagement strategies, and delivering outreach activities to inspire young people. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Academy and other teams to support marketing, events, and programme development aligned with our growth goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver outreach programmes to promote BBD Academy to prospective learners and stakeholders.
* Build and maintain partnerships with educational and community organizations.
* Organize and lead engagement activities, including job fairs, school visits, and open days.
* Plan and host in-person and virtual taster sessions.
* Represent the Academy at events to raise awareness.
* Create engaging learning materials for outreach and summer activities.
* Research and contribute to new learning experiences.
* Align outreach activities with curriculum themes and learner pathways.
Marketing and Growth Support:
* Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging.
* Gather insights from schools and learners to inform marketing strategies.
* Support digital presence through content ideas and social media.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
* Collect feedback and evaluate outreach success.
* Maintain records of engagement and report on KPIs.
Requirements:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident speaker and presenter.
* Experience in outreach, education, youth engagement, or community work.
* Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders.
* Organized, proactive, capable of managing multiple projects.
* Understanding of UK educational environments and curriculum.
* Creative, learner-focused, passionate about education.
* Experience with digital tools and social media (desirable).
* Flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends.
* Background in education, marketing, youth work, or community development.
* Knowledge of widening participation or inclusion programmes.
* Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual events.
