Teaching Assistant (Early Years & SEN)
The vision of Dean CE Primary School’s leaders is for the school to follow Jesus’s example to ‘love one another as I have loved you’ (John 15:12) by ‘Loving to Learn, Learning to Love’.
Dean School is a caring, happy community where, with the help of God, we nurture and support each other to grow as positive, enthusiastic learners who, with confidence, compassion and respect, can spread our wings and help make the world a better place. Come and be part of making our vision a reality.
The Local Governing Body of Dean School is looking to appoint a new staff member to start in January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The role is for a Teaching Assistant working approximately 24 hours per week (Tues-Fri), supporting both Early Years (Nursery) and Key Stage 2 (supporting SEN pupils aged 9-11). This is a temporary position until the end of the academic year, with potential for extension.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teaching assistant, preferably with Level 3 Early Years and 5-11 qualifications, with recent experience supporting pupils aged 2-4 and 9-11, including those with additional needs. They should be calm, positive, dedicated to pupil well-being and progress, highly motivated, flexible, caring, and sympathetic to the Christian ethos of the school.
Additional responsibilities may include working as an After School Club Assistant on Tuesdays and as an After School Club Leader on Thursdays and Fridays, with additional hours and responsibilities outlined in the full job description.
We offer a supportive environment with enthusiastic staff, well-behaved children, ample resources, and opportunities for professional development.
Closing date for applications is Wednesday, 4 December at 12 noon. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 11 December. Application forms are available on the school website, and visits are welcome by prior arrangement. For more information or an informal discussion, contact the school via email or phone.
