Milk Education are seeking a skilled, reflective, and resilient Religious Education Teacher to join a forward-thinking department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. The role will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 RE, delivering engaging lessons that explore world religions, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary moral issues. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons in line with the national curriculum
2. Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across KS3 and KS4
3. Develop students’ understanding of world religions, beliefs, ethics, and philosophical thinking
4. Encourage respectful discussion, critical thinking, and independent reflection
5. Use assessment data to track progress and adapt teaching to meet learner needs
6. Promote tolerance, cultural awareness, and mutual respect within the classroom
7. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
8. Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements:
9. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
10. Specialism in Religious Education – able to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
11. Strong classroom management skills
12. Good subject knowledge of major world religions and ethical/philosophical concepts
13. Ability to facilitate balanced, respectful classroom discussion on sensitive topics
14. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
15. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
