The Opportunity
Turner & Townsend's Natural Resources business has grown 35% in the last 9 months and is expected to triple in size over the next 3 years. We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Manager to join our expanding Natural Resources and New Energies team, working on several high-profile Projects/Programmes with Controls & Performance duties. This role offers the chance to innovate, collaborate, and learn from our experienced Risk Management community and extensive Controls and Performance Network.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, design, and implement risk management processes tailored to client needs, aligned with best practices.
* Facilitate risk workshops with subject matter experts.
* Create and maintain risk registers and other risk documentation.
* Challenge risk data to ensure robustness and quality.
* Drive mitigation actions across projects and programmes.
* Support project teams in developing measurable and specific management responses.
* Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts.
* Produce timely risk reports using tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI.
* Coordinate with Project Controls to maintain alignment of project information.
* Engage with supply chain to understand and incorporate their risks.
* Communicate complex risk information effectively to stakeholders.
* Adjust risk strategies as needed in response to changing conditions.
* Proactively solve problems and think critically about risk scenarios.
* Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
* Stay informed on industry risks and best practices.
* Embrace challenges and seek positive change for clients.
* Hold a UK driving license or be able to travel to client sites as required, with relevant risk management experience in multiple projects or environments.
* Be familiar with risk standards (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA) and risk tools.
* Understand Quantitative Risk Assessment techniques like Monte Carlo simulations.
* Knowledge of how Project Controls aspects interact with Risk Management is desirable.
* Possession of a risk qualification (e.g., APM Risk Certificate Level 2, MoR) is advantageous.
* Familiarity with NEC contracts is a plus.
