Job description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and methodical
Software Tester
to join our team. This role does
not require any programming or technical skills
. You will be responsible for testing software applications from a user's perspective to ensure they are intuitive, functional, and bug-free before release.
This is an ideal position for someone who is confident using everyday digital tools, enjoys working with technology, and has a keen eye for detail.
You will work from our office in Hertford (SG14 1DT) 5 days a week.
This is a
6-month starting contract
with the option to become full-time after a successful probation period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
* Follow test cases and scripts to validate functionality, usability, and consistency.
* Report bugs and issues clearly and concisely using tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Trello).
* Conduct exploratory testing to identify unexpected behaviour or UI/UX issues.
* Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other testers to ensure quality standards are met.
* Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
* Provide feedback on improvements to the user experience.
* Retest resolved issues and verify bug fixes.
Requirements:
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or issues.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to follow instructions and test procedures precisely.
· Good organisational and time management skills.
· Comfortable using computers, web browsers, and mobile apps.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Curiosity and a willingness to learn about how systems work.
Desirable but not essential:
· Previous experience in software testing, customer service, or data entry.
· Understanding of what makes a good user experience (UX).
· Familiarity with spreadsheets or documentation tools like Google Docs or Excel.
