We are seeking an enthusiastic educator with a strong Early Years background to teach Childcare and Personal Development programmes to both 14‑to‑16 and post‑16 learners. This role is ideal for a lecturer, teacher or experienced Early Years professional who is passionate about helping young people develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for their next steps.
Responsibilities
* Teach 14‑to‑16 year old school link students (Years 10 and 11) towards a Gateway Level 1 qualification in Childcare.
* Teach post‑16 PVP learners (Years 12 and 13) completing a Gateway Level 1 Diploma in Progression.
* Deliver engaging and accessible lessons across a varied curriculum covering child development, health and safety, nutrition, communication, play and other key topics.
* Work closely with Learning Support Assistants to adapt teaching for diverse learning needs and create an inclusive environment.
* Use regular assessment to monitor progress, identify learning gaps and support continuous improvement.
* Promote attendance, support student well‑being and embed literacy, numeracy and essential life skills throughout the curriculum.
Qualifications
* Strong Early Years knowledge and experience.
* Experience teaching learners aged 14‑to‑16 or 16‑to‑19.
* Confidence in supporting students who require additional guidance to achieve their potential.
* Experience delivering PSHE, personal development or life skills programmes is highly advantageous.
* Qualified teachers, lecturers, assessors, trainers or experienced Early Years professionals with relevant teaching or training experience.
* Positive role model, effective communicator and collaborative team player.
Salary & Hours
Permanent, part‑time position working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Pro‑rata salary ranges from £19,236.28 at T1 up to £27,572.23 at T11 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
