We are looking for a Senior Completion Engineer for a major international oil and gas company.
The job holder will provide engineering & operational support for Completion & Well Intervention disciplines, with a primary focus on upcoming development well projects, but also on other well intervention opportunities for existing assets, or any exploration drilling.
The role will be based within the offices in London with international business trips.
Job Functions:
* Role will primarily be embedded within Drilling Team with for new wells (as a priority – focus on the 2024 Drilling Campaign)
* Role will also support Well Intervention & Barrel Chasing (other opportunities) as a secondary task (time allowing)
* Establish and document detailed Basis of Designs for all well types (platform, TLP, subsea)
* Develop operational programmes and budgets for completions, workovers and well interventions as required
* Interface with key stakeholder to ensure deliverables are achieved
* Optimise completions/testing/well intervention planning, costing and operations
* Assist in the contracting process for completion equipment and services tenders
* Ensure well material and service providers comply with specified quality assurance requirements
* Monitor contractor operational readiness, equipment manufacturing, acceptance testing, quality assurance and service delivery
* Assist in the management of the service contracts and contractor performance process
* Ensure that all completion activities comply with company’s policies standards as well as all governmental and industry regulations / Best Practices.
* Ensure that all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured for the benefit of future company operations worldwide
* Participate in well and operations hazard assessments and HAZOP’s, compiling well risk register and well barrier reviews
* Participate in Barrel Chasing efforts including high-level scoping (feasibility & cost) for potential projects
* Hold and document Peer Reviews and Gate Meetings, as well as After Action Reviews as necessary.
Qualification & Experience:
* University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineering (but not essential).
* Valid IWCF well control certification (preferred).
* Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience for the role, minimum 5 years as a completion engineer with operating companies, including engineering & operations, and contracting process for equipment and services.
* Knowledge of typical Wellhead/PGB Running, TH installation mode, XT installation and Well Intervention activities and associated equipment such as SSTT, BOP, IWOC’s, etc.
* Experience in development drilling offshore operations from a DP MODU’s, jack-up and platform is mandatory. Experience with sand control operations like OHGP/frac-pack and smart completions will be essential. Experience in supporting operations in West Africa will be advantageous.
* Proficiency with IT and industry software including: o WellCat / Landmark suite o Tubing Movement Modelling
