The role
CNC Turner | Cleckheaton | Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8:00 am 4:45 pm, Friday 8:00 am 12:30 pm | £35,000 - £37,000 DOE
Our client is a well-established subcontract production facility serving the valve, filtration and defence industries. Established in 1974, the company employs 35 people and operates around 30 CNC machines, generating an annual turnover of approximately £3 million.
With decades of engineering expertise and a strong reputation for quality and precision, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join their growing team in Cleckheaton.
The Role
This role involves manufacturing high-precision components to customer drawings and specifications, as well as other duties such as:
Setting and operating Fanuc-based CNC lathes
Editing Fanuc programs
Conducting in-process inspection of your own work
Using conventional measuring equipment and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
Working to tight tolerances in a high-precision environment
Selecting and setting cutting tools
Machining small batch and one-off components
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and quality
Working collaboratively as part of the production team
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience as a CNC Turner
Experience setting and operating Fanuc-based CNC lathes
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision
Experience using micrometres, callipers, gauges and other measuring equipment
Knowledge of machining processes, speeds and feeds for a variety of materials
Experience working to tight tolerances
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to use initiative and work independently
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Desirable
Experience programming Fanuc CNC lathes
Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
Knowledge of multiple machining disciplines
