Overview
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. In a fast paced retail environment, you will play an important role in day-to-day store operations by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. The customer is at the heart of everything we do, so you will look for ways to improve service through on‑the‑job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, the store will remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* I know my customers and serve them with passion and pride, delivering great natural service.
* Encourage customers to provide feedback on their shopping trip by completing the "have your say" survey.
* Work across all areas of the store including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to meet customer needs.
* Apply training to ensure safe working practices.
* Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create a positive atmosphere.
* Understand store performance and my role in delivering profit.
* Be myself, live our values, make everyone feel welcome and follow policies.
* Clock in and out at the start and end of each shift to ensure accurate pay.
* Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment where available to keep colleagues and customers safe.
* Follow the think 25 policy when serving age‑restricted products.
* Respond quickly to assistance calls on self‑service checkouts and explain actions to customers.
* Keep aisles clear and the store clean, tidy and organised.
* May be required to run the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
* Follow all training to keep staff, customers and the store safe and compliant.
* If the store has a Post Office Local, duties include day‑to‑day Post Office operations and background checks; passing these checks is required to proceed with the role.
