About The Role
Location: Bursledon, Southampton, Hampshire
Days & Hours: 30 hours of Team Leader duties per month and an average of 68 hours of support worker shifts per month. Some shifts will include weekend working.
Pay: £16-£19.63 per hour dependent on experience. Sleeping Nights are paid at National Living Wage per hour.
Driver required? Essential
Driving Clients Car? No, you will need a car with business insurance.
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty.
Essential: Supporting adults in their own home with seizures, learning difficulties and ABI.
Desirable: Experience working with adults with ABI and LD
Accommodation (while on duty): Good sized double bedroom with carer bathroom.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and manage a team of 1:1 24/7 support workers, including rotas and cover arrangements, inductions, appraisals, supervisions and identifying training needs.
* Ensure care is high quality, safe and effective; provide on-call duties.
* Work alongside Rosie in her home to manage everyday life-skills and participate in activities (e.g., City Farm, fitness, chores, laundry, equipment care).
* Lead and support the team to promote Rosie’s independence and learning, and to meet her potential.
* Collaborate with the Case Manager and HR to ensure smooth operation of Rosie’s home.
* Be prepared to assist with domestic tasks to ensure smooth running of the home and attend holidays with Rosie as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience of and qualifications (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) in caring for adults with disabilities.
* Great organisational skills; experience with epilepsy.
* Ability to lead, train and support a team of support workers/ carers; formulate care plans and rotas.
* Good written skills and ability to maintain care records.
* Ability to work in Rosie’s home with sensitivity to her needs and wishes; flexible and proactive; able to work at short notice.
* Strong activity planning, time management, and IT skills; maintain confidentiality and privacy for Rosie and family.
* Empathy, professionalism, and a team-player mindset; ability to build productive relationships; respect diversity.
* Full driving licence preferred; car available for work; non-smoker (post operates a non-smoking environment).
