Job Overview:
The Duty Security Manager will lead and oversee daily security operations within the venue, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism. This includes direct management of the Security Operations Center (SOC) and security officers, with a focus on ensuring regular briefings, team productivity, and adherence to security procedures. You will maintain a positive and developmental work environment while collaborating with upper management to align security practices with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure effective monitoring, incident response, and communication across security teams.
2. Supervise security officers, ensuring they are prepared, briefed, and aligned with daily operational goals and any specific tasks or events.
3. Conduct and facilitate daily briefings to ensure the security team is fully informed of operational priorities, changes, and potential risks.
4. Develop and implement training programs aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of the security staff.
5. Foster a supportive and professional environment, providing leadership, coaching, and feedback to security officers for continuous development.
6. Maintain clear and confident communication with clients, guests, and other departments as required.
7. Collaborate with upper management to report on security operations, share insights, and propose improvements.
Required Skills:
8. Strong leadership and team management skills, with an emphasis on conducting briefings and maintaining effective security operations.
9. Excellent operational and client management capabilities.
10. Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to deliver briefings and updates professionally.
11. Ability to stay calm, organized, and professional under pressure.
12. Business-wide focus, with a proactive approach to decision-making and accountability.
13. Proficient in computer skills, particularly with security systems, SOC technology, and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
14. SIA Door Supervisor (DS) license
15. SIA CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) license
16. Five years of checkable history
17. Permanent right to work in the UK
Adherence to Site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
18. Follow all established site-specific SOPs to ensure consistency, compliance, and safety in all security operations.
19. Maintain a working knowledge of updated SOPs and apply them in daily responsibilities and emergency situations.
20. Participate in ongoing training related to SOPs and other site policies as required.
Experience:
21. Proven experience as a Security Manager or Security Supervisor with a background in supervising teams and managing SOC functions.
22. Familiarity with conducting daily briefings and preparing security officers for high-traffic, event-driven environments.
23. Experience in large venues or event spaces, demonstrating effective incident response and team management in dynamic settings.
