HVAC/R Technician Summary
In this role, you will travel to various clients’ locations to inspect their current equipment, identify problems with their units, and perform necessary repairs or routine maintenance. When required, you will install new systems and ensure they work efficiently. We work with commercial and residential customers, so you must know how to work with small and large HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
Responsibilities
* Determine customer concerns with their current HVAC/R systems
* Inspect current HVAC/R systems for effectiveness and safety
* Perform necessary repairs and routine maintenance
* Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC/R resources
* Discuss various options with clients when it comes to heating and cooling systems
* Troubleshoot issues with a current system as they are identified
* Conduct performance tests with specialized tools and adjust system settings
* Travel to different homes and businesses throughout the day and determine equipment and service problems
* Categorize and organize inventory to limit unnecessary losses to the company
* Clean, adjust, and repair HVAC/R systems and perform warranty services
* Troubleshooting defective HVAC/R systems and equipment to make diagnoses
* Perform preventative maintenance by cleaning reheat coils and air handling units and monitoring and calibrating air handling units
* Create and fully execute quotes for clients
* Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
* Keep daily logs and records of maintenance functions within BuildOps and proper IVR usage
* Maintain proper stock and equipment for calls and ensure proper vehicle maintenance is followed
* Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with Health and Safety Act
Qualifications
* Completion of an HVAC training program at a vocational school or apprenticeship or equivalent work experience
* Current NH Gas License
* Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants
* Proficient with manual and power tools
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
* Must be able to be insurable by our commercial insurance company
* Reliable and self-motivated
* Proven work experience as an HVAC/R Technician or similar role
* Current driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle
* Required state licensing for HVAC/R technicians where applicable
* Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice
* Ability to lift and transfer 50-75 lbs safely
* Physically agile, dexterous, and able to work in confined spaces
* Ability to manage calls independently in an on-call situation
