Due to the nature of this role, you will be based on site 100% of your working week. About Us MI5 keeps the country safe from serious threats like terrorism and attempts by states to harm the UK, its people and way of life. We carry out investigations by obtaining, analysing and assessing intelligence, and then work with a range of partners, including MI6 and GCHQ to disrupt these threats. Through our protective security arm, we provide advice and guidance to government, businesses and other organisations about how to keep themselves safe. The Role As a Facilities Contract Manager, you’ll be a senior member of the Facilities Management (FM) leadership team alongside a number of other Contract Managers who take care of their own buildings. Vital to our wider mission, you’ll build a strong relationship with one of our FM supplier partners and lead the delivery of all outsourced FM services and activities. While ensuring our FM supplier partner delivers services according to the contract, you’ll keep our customers at the forefront of decision making. You’ll work with a variety of stakeholders including building occupiers, commercial and finance teams, health and safety teams, and project delivery teams, to name a few. Your day to day will include contract management and stakeholder engagement, chairing contract and operational meetings, as well as finance and commercial reviews. You can also expect to be responsible for the line management of a team of Building Services Technical Leads who look after both hard and soft facilities management activities. About You While we don’t require you to have any specific qualifications, you will need experience managing a high value total facilities management contract within a large and complex office environment. You’ll be able to develop and manage stakeholder and partner relationships. You’ll also understand the technical aspects of a large office environment and be confident managing a team of Senior Technical Leads. You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of what makes a successful FM contract and articulate your experience of delivering one. Plus, you’ll be confident questioning and evaluating potential technical solutions that may impact building occupiers while weighing the risks associated with disruption in service delivery. You’ll be able to show us how you use your communication and interpersonal skills effectively, when dealing with stakeholders and partners. Training and Development When you start, you’ll get a two-week team and departmental induction where you’ll meet fellow FM managers, spend time with supplier partners and get to know the commercial, finance and other in-house teams you’ll work with. You’ll be assigned a buddy to help you settle in and we’ll work with you to develop the skills and knowledge you need to successfully carry out your responsibilities. We’ll also invest in your learning and support you to gain professional qualifications and certifications that align with your role including becoming a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
